BRIEF

Redesign the website for Salt Lake City artist Portia Snow to expand her online presence and increase art sales. After 30 years focused on creating paintings, photography, and sculpture, Portia needed a functional eCommerce platform that would be easy for her to manage without detracting from her creative process.

WHAT WE DID

Conducted comprehensive market research revealing that Millennials lead the art market in purchase value and volume, with 92% buying art online. Performed competitor analysis and user interviews with Gen X and Millennial art buyers to identify key features, including zoom capabilities, multiple print options, pricing transparency, and storytelling elements. Developed two user personas and created a streamlined eCommerce experience with straightforward navigation, integrated calendar for events, flexible payment options including financing, and social media integration. Designed a modern, neutral aesthetic that allows Portia’s vibrant artwork to take center stage.

RESULT

Delivered a complete eCommerce solution that transformed Portia’s six-image placeholder site into a fully functional online gallery and shop. The intuitive platform enables easy maintenance while providing customers with seamless browsing, purchasing, and checkout experiences. Established a foundation for future enhancements, including QR code scanning for in-gallery purchases and AR visualization tools.
